Next Meeting - Thursday 4 September 2008

The next Qld Tech Writer Event will be held on Thursday 4 September 2008.

Dave Halls from Tech Writer Placements is joining us for the meeting to present an engaging (short) presentation. We will then adjourn to Zen Bar (just below the office) and enjoy light snacks provided by Techwriter Placements.

Please meet in the Intec Billing Foyer, 215 Adelaide Street. Jared will meet you in the Foyer and bring you up to the meeting area. Assemble in left lift well area - the meeting will be held on Intec's Level 4 tenancy.

Dave will speak from 5.45pm for about 20 minutes. We'll all head down to Zen Bar and eat.

Please register your interest.

I hope I'll be able to time a Brisbane trip to coincide with a Qld Tech Writer meeting. Having the dates well in advance definitely helps -- thanks Hamish!

Figured I should join! Even though I'm in WA, I telecommute to work with a Brisbane-based company.

Thanks, Hamish... I am grateful to you for keeping the meetings on the go... I find them very beneficial (when I do attend) and it is great to meet others with a common interest vocationally. Cheers, Nikki

Upcoming Qld Tech Writer Meetings

It is great to see that we are getting new members each event - who knew there were so many tech writers in Brisbane! Please continue to spread the word to your colleagues. There also seems to be a lot of activity in Brisbane at the moment, with lots of positions open and people looking to move about. Good that things seem healthy for us here.

We have scheduled the next two meetings to give people advance notice. The dates are:
* Wednesday, 9 July 2008
* Thursday, 4 September 2008

Venue is TBA - we'll send out further details when we have them. Again, if anyone is able to sponsor the events, it would be appreciated.

To be notified of upcoming events, join the Queensland Technical Writers (qldtechwriter) list. Go to http://au.groups. yahoo.com/group/qldtechwriter/ or subscribe by emailing qldtechwriter-subscribe@yahoogroups.com.au.

Best Practices of Global Production Information

Now, more than ever, organizations need to effectively communicate global product information if they are to operate successfully on the world stage. Traditionally, though, organizations have faced a fragmented landscape of technology solutions that are bolted together, but don’t work together. Organizations have had to integrate these technologies themselves and cope with the resulting overhead.
It doesn’t have to be like this. Read our new whitepaper, Best Practices of Global Product Information to find out how you can streamline and enhance the processes you use of communicate global product information.
