About Me:: Stuart started his appreciation of technical communication in high school while working as an on-air producer and copywriter at KUVR radio station in Holdrege, Nebraska. He continued writing at St. Olaf College, graduating with a Paracollege Concentration entitled "The Art of Storytelling" (a study in Cross-Cultural Communication).

For 8 years, Stuart was the lone technical writer and product specialist at the REVEAL Solutions Group (O'Pin Systems, Inc.), a document management company. He has held writing and software usability consulting positions at GE, HP, 3M and MoneyGram. More recently, Stuart served as Senior Technical Writer for the Universal Records Management product line at ORACLE and is currently Principal Technical Writer and Business Analyst at IDeaS Revenue Optimization (www.ideas.com).

When not working, Stuart participates in several professional and social groups. Along with STC-TC, he is a member of the Minnesota chapter of the Usability Professionals Association. Invited to STC by a colleague in 2005, Stuart appreciates many STC events, such as the tour of the U of M Usability Lab and the STC Annual Conference in Minneapolis. It is important for him to meet other writers and the ideas, success, and frustration that we all share. Going back to his radio station experiences, he is particularly interested in how multi-media (audio, video, Internet) interacts with technical communication.
