Have fun,

It's been awhile! I've been busy at work, and my work now wants some more projects done in RH and Captivate. Fun!
However, I'll be working in RH 5, and Captivate 1. The Captivate SW was "free" from Adobe...I won it from a promo that one of the regional sales managers held.
Can I upgrade to Captivate 3 on that license? I'm not sure who at Adobe to direct my question to.
John, could you take a moment to look at 2 sample Captivate projects of mine? I think I really need to grow my Captivate skills. I've been working in e-learning programs ToolBook and Articulate (www.Articulate.com), but am now being redirected to Captivate.
My 2 Captivate samples are at the bottom of the page listed below. I will peruse the Captivate links on Adobe's site for improvement suggestions:

Thanks in advance, John!

The bucks for RH 7 upgrade are well worth it. It's a really major upgrade. Better functionality, cleaner code (no more wacky tags!) etc. Plus Adobe is really putting a LOT of weight behind supporting it along with FrameMaker, Captivate, etc.
As for the Flare to RoboHelp Project Converter; that was created to solve requests from several folks. The reasons are pretty much those stated on my website. To some extent it's personal taste and a perception (deserved or not) that the Flare interface is more like "a programmer's tool rather than a writer's tool" and some writers are not comfortable with it. Plus, RoboHelp has a bright future with the full backing of Adobe unlike the previous owners (Macromedia), In other cases, some larger groups of authors using RoboHelp were joined by several Flare users and so they wanted to consolidate around RoboHelp.
Regarding Andy's question about Jenise Daigle! I don't know here, but I'm sure she's a cousin from way back somewhere. My French Acadian family was from near New Orleans ( as opposed to the French Canadian branch). It's an interesting genealogy. Jenise is a pretty name BTW!

So, former RH who switched to Flare now coming back to RH... what are the specific reasons why?
For the record, I still use RH. But, I don't have the $$ to get RH 7.
Oh! What? I just read Andy Rogers comment before posting mine. You have a distant cousin with my first name? And, she even spells it the same way! I'm sooooo excited. My husband is wondering why my fingers are flying so quickly across my MacBook Pro.
Yes, my name IS Jenise.
Ran across an apparent distant cousin of yours, a vet specialist named Jenise Daigle, who unsuccessfully treated my dog, who died of lupus. I guess you got all the brains in the family.
To answer your question, as of right now I'm not scheduled to attend STC (very busy conf/travel in May.) My co-worker, Butch Pfremmer will be presenting at STC and his presentations will be well worth attending. I will let you know if plans change and I end up going.

I see you've gathered a collection of The Usual Suspects.
Glad to be aboard.
So how did it go in Portland?
Regards,
Neil
